Preparation

You will receive a set of pre-operative instructions from Dr. Lefkovits during your personal consultation. As preparation is essential for a smooth recovery, you must follow these instructions closely.

You may need to discontinue using certain medications and supplements, especially those with blood-thinning properties. You will also need to stop consuming alcohol and refrain from using nicotine.

We recommend filling prescriptions ahead of time and arranging transportation home from the office.

Procedure

The procedure is generally performed under local anesthesia. A mild oral dose of Valium is often prescribed to enhance the comfort level.

This allows you to remain awake but fully relaxed during the procedure. You will also be started on Arnica to reduce bruising and swelling.

Once you are comfortable, Dr. Lefkovits makes a small incision behind each ear and below the chin. He then injects a tumescent fluid to help swell the fat cells, making them easier to remove.

Dr. Lefkovits will insert a micro-cannula into the treatment area and move it back and forth to break up and remove the fat with suction. After making the necessary adjustments, Dr. Lefkovits will close the incisions, and you will return to our recovery suite to rest.

Recovery

Fatty neck liposuction requires minimal downtime. You may experience mild swelling and/or bruising in the treatment area, but this typically subsides after a few days. Dr. Lefkovits will provide a compression garment to help your skin heal correctly. This supportive garment can help further minimize any swelling and protect your new curves. We will also provide specific instructions based on your individual treatment plan and medical history to ensure optimal results.
