If a Tummy pouch is present, tummy tuck surgery (abdominoplasty) is needed. It is removed with just liposuction. The same holds true for the love handles. These liposuction techniques enable removing a larger amount of fat from the abdominal region. If the abdominal skin is loose because of weight loss and possibly due to aging, skin removal may also be necessary.

By providing postoperative massage and ultrasound treatment you can reduce the need to wear a compression garment from 6 weeks to 2-3 weeks. This is especially helpful in warm weather.

If skin needs to be removed from the abdomen, drains may often also need to be used.
